MOUNTAIN VIEW, California and LOS ANGELES, June 14, 2021 – Positive Coaching Alliance (“PCA”), a national nonprofit dedicated to providing a positive, character-building experience for youth athletes, has joined forces with MOJO, the 2021 Webby Award winner for Best Sports App, to rejuvenate youth sports across the United States with the power of positive — and fun.

Los Angeles-based MOJO puts the magic back into youth sports by providing coaches, parents, leagues and teams with a one-stop coach-in-a-box app that takes the stress and chaos out of coaching. MOJO coaches will now have access to expert-backed content from PCA and their extensive library of resources and curriculum for developing a positive coaching relationship. MOJO and PCA will collaborate to create new content for both platforms while providing PCA members with special access to the MOJO app, which features short-form videos customized to age and skill level and one-touch tools to plan fun and engaging practices.

PCA has been a catalyst for a positive youth sports culture for more than 20 years. PCA has grown from a small, local non-profit to a strong, national organization hosting thousands of workshops every year, and partnering with some of the largest organizations, pro sports teams, and national governing bodies. The partnership with MOJO is a strategic way to transform the coaching relationship through technology and access to tens of thousands of grassroots coaches.

“PCA is thrilled to offer its content and trainings to coaches across the country through MOJO,” said Jason Sacks, Chief Development Officer of PCA. “We believe that all youth can benefit from a positive, inclusive sports culture that develops social and emotional skills, molds character and prepares them for competition and for life — and we believe in fun. We are excited to work with this exciting new company that shares our vision and commitment.”

“PCA is the standard-bearer for the power of positive in youth sports and was deeply influential to me, personally, as I’ve coached my two sons in four different sports,” said Ben Sherwood, founder and CEO of MOJO and former co-chairman of the Disney Media Networks. “MOJO is honored to work alongside PCA to fix what’s broken in youth sports and to leverage the power of positive, plus world-class technology, to make youth sports fun again for millions of kids across the country who are ready to get back out there and play.”

Julie Foudy, former captain of the U.S. Women’s National Team, and fellow two-time FIFA World Champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist Brandi Chastain are both MOJO founding athletes and investors as well as PCA national advisory board members.

“This is going to be a powerful partnership,” says Foudy, a parent of young athletes who has coached youth sports. “The whole point of youth sports is to teach kids to be good people and good athletes, and together, MOJO and PCA will give coaches the trusted tools, resources and technology to make a real difference.”

“MOJO and PCA are so perfectly aligned,” adds Chastain, who spoke about coaching her own son for PCA. “By making youth sports a fun, positive experience for players and coaches, kids will stay in the game and reap all the rewards that sport offers, from the power of teamwork to memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.”

The new partnership with PCA furthers MOJO’s mission to empower young athletes everywhere and make sports more fun for everyone – one kid, one coach, one family at a time.

MOJO is available for download on iOS and Android.
